Angels Bathing Pool

Of all the geysers I have shot Great Fountain has the largest amount of pools on top of the buildup of minerals. This makes it great to photograph reflective light from the sky. Catching it going off during sunset is a real trick. I'll just have to settle for some nice evening light.

Appreciate any feedback you may have. Thanks for the C&C from my last entry.

Well done Dean. The sun coming the steam looks great, as do the reflections. You handled the exposure very nicely.

Beautiful image Dean. I really like the color palette and the reflected light in the pools. Very nice details in the larger version. There is a very strong purple/magenta reflection in the LRC that doesn't quite seem to fit the rest of the image. I might consider working on the colors in that area.

I'm more partial to the mats at GPS for reflection shots, but you do have a good point...this has some interesting features.

Whoops, forgot to tell you that I do like this image a lot. Would be nice to see a little more detail in the forest and maybe recover the sun a bit. Good stuff otherwise.

A very dramatic image in some very challenging light.

Dean,
Beautiful... and excellent processing.
I'm looking forward to getting your Yellowstone e-book for a Sep. trip to the park.
This makes me anxious to get out there.
Nicely done.

Beautifully handled light, as always. Those pools are fascinating, could almost be their own image.
