Lovely and well composed. Very fragile butterfly, yet good detail. What are your initial impressions of the 800E?

The D800E is incredible. It so sharp I rarely have do out put sharpening. The dynamic range seems twice as large as my Canon 5dII. I recently did backed 5 exposure shots of a Catholic cathedral and was able to process only one Image which held the shadows and highlights!! I sold all my Canon gear and bought Nikon because of it. Have had no issues with moire or color shift. It is truly like having medium format.

I think the butterfly looks great, but I find the flower in TLC too distructing. :wavey:

Good capture but something looks overdone about it, there is a halo around the butterfuly.

Thanks for the input. I agree the flower at TLC is a little to hot. There is another yellow flower behind the butterfly but no halo. At 100% it is razor sharp which causes it to stand out a little I guess?? Will re post.

Lovely colors and details in the butterfly. I see lots of JPG artifacts around many of the edges. Have you read the processing for posting thread in the digital imaging forum?

Gorgeous image, Bunn. The butterfly is amazingly beautiful, but I like the entire image. I understand Chris' suggestion with regard to the flower in the ULC but, personally, I don't have a problem with it. I think it adds to the overall storybook look. I do agree with Mark's observation about the artifacts in this web presentation. I can see where it will be challenging to resize the files from the 800. On the other hand, this will make a stellar large print. Thanks for sharing this excellent image. :toast: :wavey:
