Old Aspen

This is a lone aspen from a growth of old aspens (about 60 years old)on a high mountain ranch above Uray, Colorado. The ranch owner informed me this is about as old as they get before they begin to succumb to disease and die off.
Elk scrapings show at the bottom of the tree.

Dramatic comp. I like the variable lighting in the sky.

Great perspective and really like the deep blues of the sky contrasting with the forms of the tree. Nicely done.

I love the point of view, it makes the tree seem so noble. Great image

Looks gigantic from this POV Rick, sure it's not in Texas
I also like the color shift seen in the sky, and the elk scrapings bottom add even more interest.
Well done :toast:

Interesting perspective. Makes the tree look very big and tall.
