Went out to photograph some lillys and found this small spider swaying back and forth on its web in the slight breeze. Challenging, but fun. ID of the spider will be appreciated.

Taking pictures of spiders is quite a challenge as you mentioned. Especially since it seems so often those delicate webs pick up every tiny breeze! Would certainly like to see more of the spider in focus but at least the head is sharp. Don't know ID.

I agree that shooting spiders swaying in the breeze is a challenge. You certainly got low for this interesting perspective. The spider looks menacing with the large body. Like Carol, I'd like to see more in focus, but, given the shallow DOF, your POF is right on the money.

Spiders on webs always present a challenge, no doubt John.
I think you've done a great job of getting the head/eyes sharp here.
If your lucky, you can find a web with some light colored flowers for BG..or even sky behind if the web's high enough..and you can get low enough:wink:
It looks like a Tropical Orb Weaver to me. After looking at this awhile, I'm curious what the oval structure is above the thorax.. Can't figure it out. But I'm no spider expert.
Well done :wavey:
