Warped Light

Thanks so much for the feedback on my previous crescent moon photo.

This next one was from the same evening but later, just a few minutes before the moon set. There are two things I find interesting about this photo. First the split-tone lighting. The sky above had already lost it red tone from sunset and blue and black shined down giving the fog covered ocean its deep blue coloring while the immediate horizon still retained its deep red-orange. Second, the warping of the thin crescent moon due to atmospheric refraction, or bending of the light.

Your feedback most appreciated.

I've never seen the moon warped like that, it's fascinating. I also like the warm light/cool light split and the nice texture in the fog layers.

This is really cool Youssef. I've never seen the moon get distorted like that before. Very unique image.

Beautiful mix of blue and gold Youssef. Interesting light etching as well.

Fascinating! The distortion on the moon really makes this interesting.

I like the layers in the image as well as the warm / cool contrast in tonality. The atmospheric distortion is interesting and well captured here.

Unusual, for sure. I like the layering at this size, but the middle, monotone blue might be a bit much in a large print.

Your usual excellent minimalism with great colors and color contrasts. And, the squiggly lines of the moon is unique and so cool! :toast:

The colors are terrific and that squiggle of a moon due to refraction is just wonderful!
