Hungry House Sparrow

This juvenile bird couldn't stand the fact that his brother was being fed again.. so it literally launched itself between parent and sibbling - to no avail though, since the meal was already gone. For the whole sequence of lounging and waiting for food until the final blow, please check my blog....

Lovely exposure, very subtle. Excellent action, well explained. Interesting that the male is doing the feeding.

Great shot! I love the action & the single line of barbed wire at the bottom of the frame. Very sweet! Excellent timing!

The action is very well captured. You did a good job of getting the eyes of the bird onthe post and the flying bird sharp. Very nice background and dof.

Great sequence! This one is particularly good - you have all 3 heads, all eyes, it's very sharp, and the BG is very complimentary.
The wire even adds some interest, imo.
Exellent!

Excellent capture! It seemed a short while ago House Sparrows were in decline in the Netherlands. I wonder if their numbers are picking up again.

Thanks all !
@KC Choo: the House Sparrows in general aren't that numerous as in the past, due to new building structures and the like. In some places however they seem to do well, this is one of the places close to my home where they still seem to do well! Cheers, Hans

Wow. This image is so full of action! great timing. I like more than just the action and composition though. The background works, the barbed wire adds a sense of place. Common birds (at least where I live), but a fantastic capture of them.

Lots of great action and color. The incoming youngster is clearly upset. The photo really tells a great little ecological tale. The wire at the bottom is a great addition. :toast:

Great catch and story. Fledge behavior is very captivating once we are in tune with it.
