We had a fruitful day in Poway photographing hummingbirds this last weekend. This is another of the images. I promise this is the last Hummingbird from this shoot.

Patrick: I like this frame. The position of the hummer is nice and the overall composition is pretty good. I'd like a little more room on the right side of the frame so the flower is not touching the edge. The brighter area in the background in the UR pulls me away a little as well. Something looks really off with the larger version. Some nasty jpeg artifacts. I looked at the file and it is only 25kb. The smaller version has some noise creeping in, but not bad.

Keith,
Thanks for the feedback. After I posted it and looked at the large version, I was aware of the ghosting around the bird and the flower stem. I looked at the two earlier posts from the same day and they did not have the same problem. Backtracking, I realized that this was an earlier image shot from greater distance. Hence the crop was very significant, but not so great that the ghosting was apparent in CS6 until I greatly expanded the image. I am confused about the file size. I reduced the image to 72 resolution, 1200 mb for the large and 720 for the small, yet the size was significantly smaller than others in the past.

I can see this used by a publisher with this extra space for text.
This size looks great, but the larger file has some problems at the 25kb file size.
I learned early on to minimize my crop to avoid these issues Patrick.
