The water in the pond behind us rose 4 feet because of Tropical Storm Debby, and there's lots of space now for wading birds to actually wade rather than fish from the bank. This is actually in a neighbor's yard, because the pond in our yard is now 10 feet from our house (alligators and all), and the birds fly away when we open the back door.

This isn't a normal head position, and the position of the head makes a catchlight almost impossible, but I like the position of the bill because of the reflection.

Comments, opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Nice activity photo. good detail. I do feel there is a magenta cast and needs to be rotated to straighten out tilt to left. Hope you don't get flooded out. Thanks for sharing.

I like the shot very much and agree with John on the two nits. Very sharp for handheld and crop. :wavey:

Glad you have weathered the storm with minimal negative impacts. I'm sure the birds are happy - though one could argue there is already plenty of water in Florida for them!

The only issue I have with this image is it needs to be straightened - the photo is tilted heavily to the left. A clockwise rotation of a 5-10 degrees should solve it.

Pretty bird, nothing more to add but try to keep dry and send some rain to the Midwest.

Nice capture Barbara! I like the Ibis picking at his leg (always like behavior, just one of my things). I agree with the rotation. With a reflection like this, try to line up the eye vertically with the reflected eye. Makes it much easier. :toast:

Very nice capture. Agree with the other commenters on the rotation. I also see a magenta cast. I pulled the larger version and opened in Photoshop. You do not have a color profile embedded in the image. That will cause an issue for color rendering. You should always embed the sRGB color profile in images posted on the web as that is the profile browsers understand (if they are color managed at all).
