Wildflower garden

This is a portion of the wildlife garden at the Sugar Grove Nature Center. I liked the position of the old wagon wheel behind the prairie blazing stars. Both flowers and wheel were in the shade.

What a pleasant little garden scene find, John! Good DOF choice to get the foreground flowers in focus and the wagon wheel more blurred. The round wagon wheel provides a nice contrast with the vertical lines of the blazing star flowers. I like the inclusion also of some other plants, especially the brown seedheads above the blazing star flowers. Great comp and good job with the lighting. Only minor suggestion would be a slight crop up from the bottom just above the plant on the right side of the bottom edge.

The Liatris is in great condition and shows very nicely against the dark background. The wagon wheel and the seed heads of the Eastern columbine add interesting elements. I would like to see either more or less of the Coneflower (Echinacea) sneaking in on the left.

This is one of the shots in this challenge that really grabs yopur attenttion. The colors of the columbine seedpods and the liatris really go well together. The wheel is a nice garden ornament.

John - this is beautiful - very well-seen, with the bright flowers and OOF old wheel behind.
Congrats on a nice WP!
