Tree Spirits + B&W

Mellon Udrigle, Inverpolly, Scotland

The sand designs created by the out going tide, were so vast and very intricate on this beach in Scotland. A few times I did not know where to step so as not to disturb the etchings or the Fairy Folk that live in these forests. Taken on a 1-2-1 with Ian C.

Canon 5DM2
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L at 30mm
ISO100 1/60sec f/8

Thanks for having a look.

Oooh, I like this one Eva. What fascinating patterns; a wonderful abstract. In the large version, my only tiny nit would be to reduce the shadow sharpening just a tad. The dark grains of sand break the smooth flow slightly. Regardless, this one is very cool!

Very ghostly looking and I really like the intricate patterns here. It reminds me of a rendition of Marc's image "The tree god". The large version has lots of nice details.

Very nice abstract. Very well seen and photographed. It does look like some kind of bewitched forest.

These are incredible. I hope you have tons more to share. Beautiful patterns and a nice pastel tone do make one think of fairy-folk. Great texture, too.

I really like these, Eva, though if I had to make a suggestion, it would be for a tighter comp, since some of the areas feel a little vacant. I really like what's happening more in the center of the frame.

A very artistic and graphic abstract, Eva! It looks like the imprint of fallen trees. I have
no suggestions for changes or ways to improve.

Fairy looking, almost painterly, I like staring at intricacicies of these "branches" . I also liked the tone , fits well with hte mood. Compositionally I would nit pick, either add "trunk" to the tree of crop righter to focus on the center - just a subjective suggestion.

Eva,

These patterns are just fantastic! I may have missed commenting on your previous one of these - and that one was just amazing btw.

The only suggestion I have - and this is purely about personal interpretation, would be some selective contrast in the left 1/3 or the LH tributaries.... Otherwise, these are just fascinating and I could see one having a field day here - and like you said, being very careful and selective where you walk...

Another beauty! Looks like an angry antelope god of sorts. The top looks a bit soft - not sure if your intention. Might be a good subject to focal blend if inclined. Since the top might be as important to the viewer as the bottom, sharpness there might help the overall image. I don't get sick of these abstracts, keep them coming!

Here is a B&W version but I think in this case I like the color version best. What do you all think?

Thanks for your comments.

Love it, Eva! Reminds me of what Van Gogh might have done in pastel (my favorite over the B&W). This is a wonderful image!

Excellent abstract Eva. It could be an aerial shot just as much as a close up. I like the tonality of the color version.

Your sand Tree sprites are very popular Eva. I like this one a lot the figure is quite menacing especially when you consider how gentle and benign the beach is.
