Lovely color and great details Bunn, well composed too.
Good POV, BG separation, and the greens contrast/compliment nicely as well :wavey:

The colors are spectacular ~ but cutting off the petals in bottom frame distract from eye movement for me. I am old school on this comp issue.

WOW this jumps out of my monitor like it's in 3D! Love the iridescent details you've captured on the butterfly's wing. The cut-off petals don't bother me, because I can't stop looking at the insect... who looks like he's looking back at the viewer!

For me backing up to get the petals would have diminished the butterfly but that is just my opinion :-)

Bunn - The Butterfly is the main subject which is perfectly rendered. The flower being a perch, for me, the clipping by the bottom edge is just fine. 3D feel is something I totally agree with.

My intent was to use the flower to frame the subject which I hope worked for you :jump:

Super image, Bunn. The butterfly's wings are dazzling in their detail and design. Nice comp and colors. Great floral perch. :toast:

The touches of blue near the wing edges are a really nice addition to the lovely colors. I like the way your comp emphasizes the butterfly. This looks a lot like an American Lady. When Brookside does the butterfly exhibit, do they include IDs? I'm opposite you around the beltway (only about a 45 minute drive).
