Lovely shot and I really like all of the sand grains on the birds.

Just wonderful! Where did you take this shot? It must be fascinating to watch them. I love the little one in the back who is nipping at his sibling for "getting ahead" of him!

Thanks Luke and Rebecka, Rebecka have a small colony of about 70 nest tunnels in a old sand pit near to where i live as you say it is good to watch these birds feeding there young and making new tunnels ,i do notice that the first brood help the parent birds with there subsequent broods.

Sorry Rebecka i live in a smaall town on the banks of the river Humber in the county of Lincolnshire England, these birds migrate from Africa and spend the summer months with us often being one of the first migrants to reach our shores.
There are about 70 + nesting tunnels in the bank but i do notice the broods are smaller this year with 3 chicks being about the norm where as last year 5 was about normal ,this could be down to the fact that we have had awful weather over here with lots of rain.
Thanks for your interest
regards Keith.

Outstanding image. You should include a "really cute" warning.

Really cute shot Keith. I love watching young swallows feed. They are really entertaining little birds.

Lovely image, Keith. Off scale for cuteness. Were you tempted to try to include a parent in the image?
