Neu Falkenstein

This is the ruin of the astle "Neu Falkenstein" in the northwestern switzerland, located in the Jura mountain. One evening while I was on my way going to the mountain for some evening shots I passed this castle and finally I ended up here taking pictures of the ruin. I came back the other day when a thunderstorm just passed by. I love the light and the mood here...unfortunately the ruin gets a bit lost but I still like it.

Techs: Nikon D700,AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm/2.8G IF VR ED @ 130mm Iso:200 1/200, f11, polarizer

I agree Bill, the ruins do get lost. But I can see why you want to try with that light! thanks for sharing.

Bill, I like this too. Yes, the ruin gets a bit lost but that doesn't bother me. The light more than makes up for it imo. What a fantastic scene. Looks like a beautiful place to me.

Gorgeous. If only that light fell on the ruin then it would be perfect! Still a very nice scene.

The effect of that wonderful luminosity creates an image the is reminiscent of some paintings by the Hudson River School of artists. Really beautiful.
