Nancy,
This guy is in velvet. You need to post a larger version as I know you have heard before. I have been working my post in the larger version size of 500KB and once ready, copy it and resize it to the 300KB posting size and have the two pics saved in my NPN file. Its real quick and you can resize the 300kKB shot to 200kKB to post in your porfolio page, which you also need by the way.
This pic looks a bit blurred on my monitor, is it cropped?

Nancy - Very impressive antlers on this fellow, and a nice head-turn to show them off. Please do post the larger version also, so we can be more helpful in comments and critiques. This looks quite soft and lots if out of focus. The sharoest areas are behind the elk, so maybe your focus was mistakenly there.
By the way, you don't "need" to re-size a third time as Mike said to put the photo in your "portfolio page" Photoportfolio is an old thing with NPN and most don't use it any longer. It's purely optional. Just check the

That is some impressive set of antlers! You had a very cluttered environment to deal with, but despite that I like how you managed to frame this guy amongst the dead branches. I do have to agree that the image looks soft and the focus is off. Looking at your techs I would say that a wider aperture would helped to give you more SS (and/or a lower ISO option) and less DOF, therewith isolating the subject better amongst this clutter.

Nice framing of the elk, but it is soft. What brand is your 2X? DId you use a tripod for this shot? Thanks for sharing.

Great rack on this animal, but it looks like you missed the focus. The sharpest part of an animal should always be the eye. It is hard to tell from without a larger image, but it looks like the focus point is on the log just behind the bull's rack.
