Visited White River Falls State Park near the Tygh Valley in north-central Oregon. There is an old hydro-electric powerhouse below the falls that was built in 1910 and abandoned in 1960. This is a shot from inside the old plant. I look forward to any feedback.

Canon EOS 20D; 1/2@f/14; 19mm; ISO 100; Tamron 17-35mm.

Man, I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff! You did a great job with it. At first the HDR look was a little jarring, but the more I looked at it the more it began to work.

Craig,
This is a very interesting capture with a lot to look at. Two thoughts. It looks like it is canted a bit counter-clockwise, just a few degrees. It also seems just a bit flat, needing either more contrast, or punching up the blacks and shadows a bit to give it more depth. Again, it is a great image with a lot of potential!

What a great find, and nice image.

The left leaning sensation is a bit annoying.

Yeah, this rocks! :toast: Maybe some distortion correction to fix the lean?

I'm typically not fond of B/W but old abandoned man made stuff is one place that it definately works. I like the composition, somewhat ambivalent about the previously mentioned angular look. It does seem a bit flat and may be a bit more dramatic with more contrast.

Excellent detail in this and fine conversion. It feels tilting to the left a bit, and I would hate to have those monsters slide! I know it has become popular in some architectureal photography to angle things considerably, but I doubt you were going for that. Difficult with the wide angles to avoid some issues.

Great capture Craig...this is one of those photos that makes me want to go see it in real life! I really like the conversion as it accentuates the age of the operation. I agreee with the tilt, as the shaft in my mind should be running level.
Nice find and capture!! :toast:

Very well done. It needs to be viewed in the large version, for sure. I concur about the left lean. Maybe a distortion correction in PS?

Many thanks for the feedback. I'll get to work with distortion correction in PS and see what happens.

I like the perspective here and your processing and B&W conversion looks excellent with great contrast and clarity.

Love this, Craig... I ran my finger across my monitor and could feel the texture in this.
