Olympus E-5, 300mm x 2.0TC, lying in mud
f20, 1/320, ISO640

Hartney Bay, Cordova at high tide, back in May. It was pretty cold, so he's puffed out.

90% of full frame. Cloned out a black blob. Selective sharpening to bird. Light noise reduction to background.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

F20? Well, it sure worked! just enough in focus around him to add interest.
Wonderful pose and the bird just glows with your perfect exposure.
Beautiful detail in the feathers and a peek at the eye.
Excellent!

A spot of beauty in the cold slimy mud. Beautiful detail and colors in the bird and I love the puffed up pose. Definitely worth getting down and dirty for - very nice!

Good color in the plumage; typical resting pose. The mud bed seems to have paid off here.

Nice, Jim. I like the tucked-in pose and the feather textures.

Nice pose and detail, Jim. The darkness of the shot really adds to the sense of cold and/or rest. Well done.
