Great Egret Ascending

Image captured at the Smith Oaks Rookery, High Island, Texas. I was pleased there were soft clouds to add some interest to my flight shots this day.

Canon 1D MkIV, 600 MM, f7.1, 1/1250, ISO 400
Manual exp., spot metering

Image is full frame, actually a little more the full frame as I added a bit of canvas on top to give the egret a bit of room.

Comments and critiques welcomed and greatly appreciated.

A great pose and nice colors. Would make a nice inspirational poster.

Sweet, Randy. Great pose and bg. On my monitor, it looks like there might be a slight blue color cast.

Great point of view, I like how you have detail in the white areas. Eye look nice and sharp. I also pick up a very slight blue cast. Nice job all around with this one. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent! Wonderful pose, perfect exposure, tack-sharp throughout and the wispy clouds are great.
