Good eye to spot this, Rick. It's kind of whimsical. Popping the color would be a nice enhancement, I think.

I have always wondered about those funny little petals that can pop out in the wrong place! I have seen it in other plants as well!
This seems a tad dark to me, & I think it could use a bit more color as well. Great find!

Well, at least it's a beautiful aberration. A lovely portrait, Rick. I agree it could be brightened a touch.

Rick - I see the oddities in many flowers too. Like the centered composition and the radiating purple petals - agree with others that brightness could be improved. Alternatively a diffuser could have been used, if possible.

Rick:
An interesting find. I like the center placement. You may like to make this a completely square frame which would accentuate the radial symmetry more and make the ectopic petal stand out even more.

Interesting find, Rick. I think the WB may be a little off. It looks a bit too warm on my monitor. Did you shoot it in RAW or JPEG?

I processed this on my laptop which is not the way I normally work. When I get back to my office I will redo this on my calibrated moniter. Thanks for the interest.
