Texas Wildfire Damage

This is 20 miles North of Fort Davis, Texas, where for two years wildfires have swept through the arid landscape. Taken in January, this is what is left of a hillside. A second fire in May threatened Fort Davis again where townsfolk and firefighters working side by side kept the town from burning.

The harsh back light adds to the eerie look where plant life once flourished.

Sure looks like the fire did a number here Rick, thanx for the info.
Like that bit of green left at the top of the tree, It helps tell the story.

I really like how the tree has just a touch of green on it which has all sorts of symbolism

Rick,
The light is a little harsh for my taste but I agree that the green on the top of the tree makes the shot.

A vivid shot. Out of curiosity, assuming you get some rain, how long does it take to green back up? It's 3-5 years up here.

The harsh lighting and over sharpened parts make it very distracting. While the green is cool, this image doesn't work for me.

Sorry, but I like where you were trying to go with the image. :)
