Castle Sinclair, Girnigoe, Caithness, Scotland close to sunset.

Info on the place Castle Sinclair

I posted this image yesterday in Landscape / ES&S Gallery Sunset Castle Sinclair that was directly behind me when I took this one.

It was an amazing place that Ian C took the four us to that evening on his Transient Light Workshop. A bit of a scramble to get there but I did it with some help.

This again is a film image I took with my Pentax 67II and Pentax 67 55-100mm Zoom with Velvia 50. For sure I used my Lee 1.5 Stop HE Grad again. Scanned with an Epson V750, betterscanning.com adjustable holder with ANR glass using Silverfast Ai Studio 8 scanning software. Very minor adjustment in PS CS6. I am finding more and more that film is more in my comfort zone...... but then again I did do it for over 30 years before going digital. I will continue to do both....... because that is what I want to do.

Thanks for looking and for comments and critiques which are always welcome/

Wow! That's pretty outstanding Eva. You must have been in a very special place to be able to turn around and get two shots like that. I love the comp.

Wow! What a wonderful image. You are doing very well with your 67 system, Eva. Very nice work with the grad filter too.
Would love to see this place one day.

Really sweet light on the castle and rocks, and you still have color in the clouds. Outstanding! :toast:

Excellent. One of the best from your recent trip. The texture, the golden light, the reflect, and the purple flowers, everything works together.

Did you place the GND horizontally?

Hi Yiming - I believe the grad was horizontal to the bottom of the cliff. My digital shots show the same bright area to the left. Sunset is directly to the left with semi-heavy clouds overhead.

What an amazing place! I like the way you used the grad, and that little puddle for the reflection.
