Just a funny looking perspective of a co-operative Green Bee on a small Mallow Flower.

ND300s, AFD200mm F/4 Micronikkor, 36mm ET, F/16, 1/80 Sec, ISO400 and Tripod in overcast conditions.

I am beginning to get back my insect shooting skills which I have neglected for a couple years now

Hi Ram. I love the perspective captured here with the bee appearing to be looking up while hugging the inside of the flower. The pink flower nicely complements the green bee, and the bee and flower center are both well rendered. My suggestion would be to crop the the top of the flower to eliminate the green space in the URC and the chewed petal (at least, I think the petal is chewed, but I'm not familiar with Mallow flowers), but I assume you prefer to keep the green space. Either way, this is excellent. Thanks for posting. :toast:

Scott, The flower is not chewed. Its in pristine condition. The petals form a V at the end in the center.

Well, you still have the bug skills -- maybe even enhanced by your hiatus. This POV is an excellent way to capture both the insect and the flower (AND even water drops -- everything but the sunset is here!) One more vote for cropping off some of the top.

Thanks for the kind cropping suggestions. I think that suggestion has merit. Revised Frame presented for comparison.

The minimalist comp is very nice Ram, I like it a lot.
The viewers eye is drawn instantly to the subject with the leading lines of the petals, and they contrast the green bees color well also. Love to shoot the metallic green bee, very photogenic little guy:smile:
Beautiful work :wavey:
PS - The later post has a bit more impact, but BOTH are winners in my book..

I love the composition in the second post. Sharp where it needs to be, soft light, great image.
