Juvenile Green Heron snagging dragonflies, caught quite a few. Overcast with sun breaking through. Nikon D300s with 500mm f4, ISO 500, f6.3, shutter-1/1250. Thanks for looking, critique, comments appreciated. Ray

Great shot of this elusive species. Helps to have a newbie as the older they get the the harder to get in the open. Well done Ray

Well caught. Really excellent detail and a well blurred BG. No nits!

Very ncie. The heron is fine; the dragonfly adds a lot to the image.

Superb detail, Ray and the pose and perch work well together. The dragonfly is a nice bonus.

Great catch Ray, for you and for the Green Heron. Detailed Heron sets off nicely against the soft green BG. Good angle to the log and good balance in the composition. Don't see anything wrong with it.

Awesome. Love the dragonfly. I might take a bit away from the left and right, but comp is a personal taste. Like it as posted.

Nice catch for both you and the heron I like how the dragon fly wings are hanging outside the herons beak. Nice feather detail too. Sweet Photo Ray!!!

Beautifully done, Ray. The meal is an added bonus to the shot. Nice detail, and I like the bg color.

Very nice job on the PP, love this shot Ray. I can't remember seeing a GH eating a DF before..
I need to get out more I guess
Excellent comp and POV that shows us that DF snack as well..
Wish it was mine!
