Some bug on some flower is about all I can say about this. I've posted a shot or two of the same fellow in the macro gallery previously. He/she/it was posing for me for a while.

Techs: Nikon D300, 105/2.8 @ f/8, handheld

That's spooky, is he saying something to you? Great shot! Can you post a larger version, I'd love to see that guy a little closer. I'm amazed you handheld that shot (really 2.8?)

Well hello there, little fella! I like the way your high-key look makes one's attention focus right in on that very sharp eye. Very nice of him to pose for you; so often these little guys never stop moving! Still, a very good job on this for handheld even if he was "posing". Personally I may be tempted to crop this a little bit tighter but also great as is, Basil.

Thanks for commenting!

John - I'll upload a larger version somewhere if I get a chance to do so. It was handheld, but at f/8 (it's the 105/2.8 Micro).

Carolyn - I've also tried cropping, and I think the shot works either way. I chose this one because the added space with the blurred petal makes it look a bit more dreamy (not sure whether that's the right word to describe it...).
