Dickcissel

Caught this dickcissel on a early morning hike two weeks back. I was hoping he will sing at some point, but he just sat there and looked at me the whole time, occasionally going back into the undergrowth. I liked this image as it gives a clear view of the head and also shows their distinctive colors. Not sure about the flowers around him.

1D3/600IS+1.4x. 1/400s@F7.1, ISO320, Tripod.
Horicon, WI.

Larger version also presented.

Thanks for looking. :wavey:

A splendid image! No worries about the flowers; they are frosting on a delicious cake of composition! :toast: :toast:

I like the flowers, they frame his face very well. Nice habitat and a lovely image,

Lovely natural setting Govind, I really like it. Even the near blooms cooperated, forming a cool "V" that frames the bird well. Great eye contact, details, colors, and I like the soft light also..
Nice :toast:

You did a great job of making the bird pop in a super busy surrounding. Really one of the better habitat images I have seen lately.
