I haven't been out in a while with the camera due to bad weather, but today the rain stayed away so I went to the local Estuary at low tide. I actually forgot to check my camera settings entirely, so I consider myself lucky that I got anything at all. I must stop doing that :)

Toya, IMHO this is an outstanding kingfisher photo. :jump: I like the composition, color and detail in the bird. Also the way the OOF BG sets the bird off. You must have had the camera set right, but you saw the scene. Thanks for sharing.

Sometimes you just take what you get, good job overall Toya.
Would love to have just one shot of this one :wavey:

Outstanding shot. Definitely worth viewing large. Well done. If all it would take to get a shot like this is to forget to check the camera setting, I would be doing really well :-)

I can't recall ever seeing a kingfisher from New Zealand - neat. I'd crop slightly from the right to get the bird less centered.

Awesome image for forgetting your settings, Toya. When I do that I always seem to end up turning jewels into junk!!! Exposure looks fine and the focus is nice and crisp. I like the perch a lot. Nice work.
