Peek-a-boo

I liked the slightly obscured pose of this fledgling American Goldfinch in a fig tree.

1DIV, 500mm ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow on RRS legs, f8, 1/1000, iso 640, Av mode with -2/3 compensation, cropped to a bit over 6.9 MP with normal processing in CS5. I did clone out a couple of distracting oof leaves and a branch. Taken at 6:50 pm on July 21st in our backyard.

Your comments and criticisms are sincerely appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

First off, the techs on this image are superb. Not only are fledglings struggling to learn how to fly, they also need to learn where to land - this little one hasn't quite got the hang of it yet. A wonderful image telling a great story - thanks for sharing.

The comp works well here because the leaves are all in focus along with the bird and the bird's eye is clear of the shadow. The perch is really cute too. Very creative comp, Dennis.
