Beautiful warm/cool colors here Andrew. The light highlighting the leaves is really wonderful. Love the large version.

Real nice colors, Andrew. Nice composition, too. The large version really adds another level of appeal to this. Well done. :toast:

Have missed your posts here, Andrew . . . and your light. You have a way of making everything just the right contrast with just the right saturation, and it's these qualities that make even a simple scene like this look so good. Very nice presentation.

Andrew,

I'm really enjoying this and it reminds me of a scene I photographed in Yosemite a few years back. I like the nice balance of the elements and especially that the trees are open enough to allow the background details to be explored as well.

The only critique/suggestion I have would be to try and even out the shadow detail in the upper branches that are darker as a result of the grad. Minor though.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Lon - yeah - I did work on those top shadows for a while, but I think I'll give it another go - problem is it's pretty noisy up there - and so if I go too bright will just be noise in a print.

Andrew,

I know exactly what you're talking about! So many times with the transparency films, there just ain't detail there, and attempting to bring it out just makes things worse! Been there. Try TK's Darks Triple Play actions if you haven't already. I actually use the darks TP to help reduce noise in situations like this. Surprising side effect... ;-)
