Beautiful portrait of a beautiful blossom, Jackie. They can have such wonderful colors and I really like this purple one. Now all you need to do is capture a photo of a butterfly on this flower to post in the macro gallery. Amazing amount of little "feeding stations" on these flowers . . .no wonder butterflies like them.

A nice bunch of flowers. Love the color. The image looks a little soft. Also wish for a little more DOF although this might mess up you nice bg; perhaps turning you POV clockwise you might be able to avoid the distraction in the bg but not sure if you were able to do that on site.
BTW its nice to have a hobby you like and able to go back to when you have the time. Look forward to seeing more of your post here.

Working on how to do a re post with upgraded version, but I really can't figure out what POV means , Gary, nor BTW. Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions. Makes me feel that I haven't forgotten everything.

Hi Jackie ,welcome back. Gary meant POV as in point of view and by the way for BTW. I am not a text savvy person and have to use my 9 and 14 year old's to translate for me !
This is lovely, beautiful colour and I like the comp. and BG on this. A touch more sharpness would be great but you could also go the other way with this one and apply a painterly effect using software this shot would lend it's self beautifully to a few art filters.
