Beyond The Falls

I apologize for my lack of participation here lately. I am currently staying in Montana working for a friend of mine. Two weeks ago my laptop crashed and I have been working hard to recover my images that hadn't yet been backed up, sadly this was around 60GB worth of images:( So far I haven't had much luck.

Here is one from a recent backpacking trip into the Hyalite Canyon area of the Gallatin National Forest near Bozeman. This is a "behind the scenes" view of Apex Falls.
Interested in hearing your thoughts!

Looks nice Zack. Love all the green moss and the water streaking from above. I've never shot Apex but some of the others up the canyon. There are so many waterfalls in this canyon they have a big Ice Climbing event here in the winter. Hope you are enjoying Montana.

This is delightful Zack. I like the crescent of mossy greens as well as the wet rocks. Nice job on the blending.

Sorry to hear about your hard disk. I've been through that with work files a couple of times in 20 years and know that while limited recovery can be had, it's a long hard frustrating task. I like the multiple curtains of falling water and how you've matched the openings in the curtains with sunlit areas in the distance. The green moss under the falls is also very nice, but feels a bit over saturated and bright relative to the darkness in the rocks around it.

Zack, This is very nice!, and such an interesting view. I love the light on the moss and the wonderful soft feel of the falls...perfect shutter speed to capture that beautiful look and feel. Really nice work on this! :toast:

Nicely done. It's sometimes difficult to get a good capture from behind the waterfall and you have managed to get a really nice shot.

Very nice, Zack. I like the wet rock and moss in the FG and the trees that frame the waterful. Very nice sky color.

Losing pictures is a frustrating experience. About a year ago, my HDD with all my pictures crashed. I always back up but I needed a high capacity HDD in a hurry for doing work for a friend. I used the backup HDD and, you guessed it, during those 4 or 5 days the photos HDD crashed. I was able to recover all my photos using a software called EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional. It was a long process, but it worked.

I like the feeling of wetness here, Zack. I can almost hear and feel the water splashing. Nice blending to keep the focus on the water.

Zack,

Excellent view and perspective! Really enjoy the perspective of being behind the veil and also have detail and interest behind that wall of water. I think the greens may be a little nuclear, but not off by very much really - sure makes the scene vibrant. And I also like the faint visibility "beyond the falls" too. Excellent!

Very unique shot Zack. Really like the behind the falls perspective, not something you see often. Way to think outside of the box.

Hope MT is treating you well...sorry to hear about your images. I usually back my favorites from a trip online, that way if a drive is lost, at least I have the best of the bunch.
