A common whistler in southern and eastern Australia. Full breeding plumage is actually bright yellow and black, but this is a young male, just starting to colour up. Background is a mass of yellow wattle which has just started to flower here in Victoria

D5100, AFS 300 2.8 + 1.7TC at 510mm (almost full frame), monopod. 1/200, f7.1, ISO 800.
Thanks, Greg

Beautiful colors, light and detail. My small nit is if it were mine, I might be tempted to clone out the pooh on the branch and maybe even the leaf on the top right.

Fabulous colors and detail. I like the pose and the clean look of the image. I echo Kurt's comment about the leaf in the corner.
Great catch.

Superb detail, Greg and I really like the positions of the feet with both on one side of the branch. He's got a great eye-I'll bet they're really spectacular in breeding plumage.

I will go with Kurt's suggestions for improvements. I don't clone much, but here I might go with some removal as suggested. Otherwise I love this.
