Lakeside Dawn

Another very foggy morning down by Lake Wivenhoe, situated just over an hours drive west of Brisbane. I wandered through the long grass on the edge of the lake enjoying the emerging light and echoing bird song. I came across this little section just as the sun had finally broken through the fog.

D800, 14-24mm lens @24mm, 3 shots f/8 focus blended, Fotodiox CP filter.

I appreciate all comments, good or bad. Please let me know what you think!

Cheers.

The soft lighting and evaporating fog are great. The extended foreground adds a lot of depth but the lack of specific points of interest in it make me wonder about cropping from the bottom so that the water is at the lower left corner.

Nice shot David, I like how you processed the fg.

You've elevated your game, David! Your processing on everything you are posting on here takes a fairly ordinary scene (here at least) and turns it into such a pleasing image. Super work.

I really appreciate your comments guy's. Yeah, I agree it's not the most dramatic of scenery, but I've been searching for new locations and trying to find something different around my local area that has not been done before. I find the country areas to be the most challenging compositionally, so thanks for baring with me while I try to find someway of making the best with what I've got out here. I should just go back to the coast where all the action is, but I want to make it hard for myself

David, I enjoy the atmosphere of your image and the tangible foreground details make me feel like standing in the middle of the scene. Wonderful natural colors to my eye.
