Big Springs, Narrows

Shot this in the fall of 2010, but somehow overlooked it when I got home, only to find it buried in my library of RAW files that I recently went through on a summer cleaning project  The Narrows are obviously a popular spot, but I haven't seen TOO many shots from this area compared to those closer to the park. I believe it was from the Big Springs section, but I could be wrong. I really liked the contrast of the warm reflected light off the sandstone with the cooler hues in the water, and tried to accentuate that in the processing. f/11 16mm ISO 125 1 second. Thanks for looking!

This is sweet, Chris. Love the contrast of warm/cool tones and your composition is perfect. I probably would have tried to get closer to that cascade in the mid-ground, which wouldn't have been as strong as your chosen comp. Well done!

This is absolutely beautiful, Chris! Every single element has its place and the color is sublime without being 'overdeveloped'.
One of the better images I've seen from this place!

Just beautiful! Great light and an excellent composition. For some reason, I'm becoming most enamored of the cobbles on the river bank. This is a stunning image.

I really like the scene and the color contrasts are great. Yellows maybe seem a bit intense, especially in the mono-yellow area in the URC. The water textures are very nice.

Great glowing reflected light and still some good detail in the water. As I look through I keep finding other neat tid bits to look at for a a while!

A classic Zion scene with nice light throughout. The PP adds a nice richness reminiscent of naturally saturated colors after a rainstorm. I would prefer a touch more breathing room for the large boulder on the right, but an extremely minor point.

Lovely, Chris. I've never photographed the Narrows. This encourages me to do so.
Wonderful colors and l like your shutter speed choice on the water.

Gorgeous Narrows shot with all the classic elements. The composition works very well too. Like Tony, I find the yellow in the brighter area in the upper RHC to be a bit too intense.

Chris,

Gorgeous! This is most certainly an image that needs to be printed big and displayed. This has a nice glow to it,yet doesn't feel overprocessed as someone else mentioned. Personally, the sat is a tad strong, but certainly within the realm of personal choice.

Beautifully captured, wonderful image.

Thanks for the advice. I made a test print and it looked pretty good, though I may go back and see if I can tame the yellows a bit.
