Dollar Lake III

This was taken on the same lake as a couple of my earlier posts. It was a cold June morning, and a warm lake provided lots of fog. I've spent hours trying to clean up the thousands of small flecks from the top of the water and think that most of them have been zapped. If I missed a few I am sure someone will point them out to me.

Have not been shooting much as I am getting ready for my last outdoor show this weekend and hope it goes better than the last one.

Anywho, C & C appreciated.

Simple and elegant. The bototm right reed a little close to the edge, and the out of focus reed (o reflected reed) at the bottom center seems out of place with all of the sharp reeds, so I might consider cloning that out. Great eye for this one. Puts me in a relaxed zone.

Love the mix of blue and yellow Tom. Always a great combo for me. The graphic lines of the reeds also work extremely well along withe the floating lily pads.

That's a beautiful image Tom. Very minimal and elegant. I don't think you should worry about the possibility of having missed any flecks. None pop out at me, and I'm not going to start looking for them either : ). The three soft bands of color (blue, yellow/beige, and grey/blue) really add to the image as well. Great job!

very nice. i'd clone out that OOF reed at the bottom and consider both the reed and its reflection in the lower right corner and the thin sliver of something poking out the water ... love the muted colours and comp.

Fantastic. The simplicity and strong lines together with the wonderful color gradients really make this a stunner. I would clone out that out of focus blade of grass at the bottom center, then print this large. All the best with your show.

A simple but elegant scene, the color transition is what really makes this composition complete for me. I would not change a thing, well seen and well done. The larger image was a pleasure to view.

Ooooh, this is sweet Tom. The color variations really make this special IMO, and the reeds add a lot too. My only suggestion - clone the one small reed coming up out of the frame at the bottom right center.

Thanks to all for the nice comments and feedback. Per the suggested edits to remove the identified reeds that were perhaps not contributing to the overall image, here is an edited version. Ironically, I was so concerned about the flecks that I did not notice the reeds until after I had already posted. This is an improvement. Good catch, and thanks again for the support and encouragement.

Exquisite shot Tom. Love the delicate and elegant nature of the reeds and how you've balanced them in your comp. The transition of color is also very nice and adds a lot of interest.
