Jasper's Pyramids

This is Pyramid mountain reflecting in Pyramid Lake, Jasper Natl. Park about an hour after the sun first hit the mountain top. For me, finding clean foreground elements that complimented the mountain and it's reflection was a challenge. I did clone out a few strands of grass along the bottom. Certainly a pretty image - I would love to actually be able to stand there and see this in person; this is the next best thing. I do think contrast could be boosted somewhat, and perhaps brightness too. The deep shadows look a little too light IMO.

Wonderful scene, this is one that you have to view large to really appreciate the beauty in it. Everything comes together for me on this and I like the you can just see some logs in the water as well. Excellent shot, you picked a great spot to make this work, well done.

A beautiful scene, Mark. The large version looks especially nice. Wish I had been there too!... Looks like there may be some vapor trails in the reflection but pretty hard to avoid sometimes! Nice work.

Sweet shot, Mark. Love the clouds and light, and the mirrored reflection is sublime. I would have plenty excited to get such a great shot in the CR. :toast:

With a reflection that good I don't think you need to worry about a foreground element. :toast:

Great photo from my favorite place! I like the foreground elements and the perfect reflection wtih just enough transparency to see under the surface. I agree with Bill on boosting the contrast.

Were you standing on the golf course when you took this one? I took a similar shot from what looks like the same angle with close the same focal length but the mountains appeared much further away in mine. I like yours much better!
