The warm light of the sun begins to break through the cool, thick fog along the grassy shores of Lake Wivenhoe, Brisbane.

details are phenomenal. i like the subtle colours in the grass - flecks of yellow, pink, mauve. i can't decide about the tree on the left ... in or out?

beautiful. I love the warmth in the light and color on the grass with the cooler temps creeping in from the left. Wonderful detail and depth. A simple composition very well executed. Nice

David, This is wonderful. I love the light and mood you caught here. The foreground grass has beautiful color and detail, and the trees in the distant fog look fantastic. Beautiful work...and what a great looking print this would make.
I think the left tree could go since it is so close to the edge but doesn't really bother me much. I really like this!

Simple and elegant, David. Lovely mood. I do think the tree on the left is a bit distracting and if this were mine I'd probably crop it out. Minor nit of an otherwise fantastic image.

Beautiful photo - great detail. I'd take the tree on the left out and the weed that sticks up above the grass on the right side. Well done!

Quite an image. While the light is nice, being able to come up with such a excellent comp using just these elements is just outstanding.

Thanks for the feedback guy's. I did try removing both the tree on the left and the weed sticking up on the right when I was processing the image, but after a long deliberation, I came back to leaving them in. I thought most people would like either one or both of them removed or cropped, so it just confirms that. When I cloned out the tree, the image didn't seem as balanced, but I'll go back and give it another go. Much appreciated.

The top/bottom contrast sings. I love the details in the larger version.
