Conditions like this are really rare up here. Being far far away into the mountains and experience this at midnight. Unbelievable...

Should be viewed large

Fascinating atmosphere and colors which make a splendid image. I find a little intrusive the rock on the foreground on the right, it seems to me that it creates a big mass which is unbalanced. Just a personal feeling, of course.

Safe to say I'll never experience conditions like this at midnight unless I'm dreaming...very cool indeed. Quite a beautiful image. The composition works well for me and those layers of fog along the hills and lake are fantastic. Nicely done!

Wow, what an amazing scene to be happening at midnight. All the elements come together for this. I really like the slight pink color in the clouds and that you can see the top of a peak in the distance fog. The larger image looks surreal, like something out of a movie, well done.

Arild, what surreal and mysterious atmosphere captured in your photo. The composition offers lots for the eye to explore. To get this light at midnight, it would be way up North, I assume. I'd be interested in knowing where it was taken.

The lines in clouds and rock converge nicely. I like the tree...like a person standing by ...to observe the action. Nice colors and details. Not certain that the vignetting adds to this. Congrats on a superb capture!

Wow, midnight? That's amazing in itself. Very nice mood Arild, and I love the touch of color.

Nice… shoot during dusk and explore at midnight? Looks like you are living large!

I agree that the foreground rock is a bit overbearing but the rest of the comp more than makes up for it. Maybe a little crop from the bottom?

Absolutely stunning conditions and what a treat. Bigger is better.

utterly gorgeous conditions. i find the compulsion to shove something into the FG a little too much here and the rock - despite its interesting patters of lichen and moss - in the FG distracts my eye from the glorious scene behind. even cropping off the bottom may help but I hope you also took a couple of steps forward and made another exposure ....

Awesome shot Arild. I quite like your comp and the large rock on the right with all the lichen. The mist sure adds a massive mysterious element to the image. Where is this?

Quite a beautiful scene. I have never been far enough north to see this kind of daylight at midnight. It must be something.
