The Blue Damselflies were going back and forth claiming the leaf to perch on.

Worked this capture on my laptop so not sure about results.

Shot a slow shutter to get some motion/action~1/250 second
Comments appreciated.
Too slow or just right or in somewhere in between?

Sony a77
70-400 G Sony zoom
200mm
ISO 400
f6.7
selective NR and slight crop

The blue ringed flyers wings make it look like a whirlybird
As far as s-speed, I think you've achieved your goal with respect to the action of those wings Rick.
I like the bold statement the gold leaf & main subject make in this subdued setting, and the passerby adds some pizzazz

I really like the leaf and the action, but feel like there's too much contrast particularly on the pale blue damsel. I think the ss is right on target. The second post is an interesting interaction, but I don't know what they're up to.

I really like the action around the golden leaf. And you got one in flight. I think the shutter speed is just right. The upper half of the photo shows quite dark on my (uncalibrated) monitor. I prefer the contrast and darks of the embedded photo. But that's my eyes.

Excellent images, Rick, I prefer the original and the last. The last seems sharper than the 2nd and 3rd. The first is great with the wing action on the approaching DF. It looks like a plane or helicopter in a holding pattern waiting for his turn to land. :toast:
