Nikon D300, 150mm, F/14, 1/160, ISO 200.

The only close-up of this delightful flower, next in the series will be a high-key composition posted this Thursday. There will be two more to end the series the following week.

I then will start a series with the Cleome hassleriana another annual, the most fascinating flower I have yet photographed. Comments appreciated.

While I like this I think I would have preferred to see the entire flower sharp as it is the outward radiating lines that have the most impact and that gets lost somewhat in the OOF portions. Actually, your previous version was so nice it will be hard to live up to that one.... :wavey:

Looking forward to your upcoming posts....

How you use light and dof makes this shot exciting. Some shadows and DOF capture the character of this flower. Great. :wavey:

Lovely, crisp rendering of the centre, Albert and a delightful variation in light and shade. Beautifully composed, too - no nits from me !!

A very pretty bloom Albert. I love the color. I like this comp - though I might not mind the center being shifted a bit more to the right.

Albert:
With your tremendous opening post for this series, I am looking forward to seeing them all. This one looks a little past prime but looking just as energetic and dynamic. Love the gradient lighting.

Beautiful details and nice placement of the center. Love the yellow "lines" leading in from the bottom. This is fine as is, but I also wonder what a subtle lightening of the top 1/3 would look like.

A very "macro" friendly & photogenic flower with its light colored "veins" or lines, they draw the eye towards its intended target:smile:
Nicely done Albert :toast:

Superb choices Albert. The lines leading to center and the detail are wonderful.
