Above Animus Forks

We headed up to this peak above Animus Forks, CO for a sunset. There was quite a bit of dramatic weather going on. Lightning was sporadic from the cloud to the right, so I set the camera for a bit more light sensitivity (ISO 400), and kept firing until I captured a frame that had the lightning in it.

Incredible lighting and lightning. The far left cloud spot maybe too bright - too much of an eye draw. The muted blues and greys just right for the mood. Maybe a slight CCW rotation - the cloud bases seem to be angling a little - or maybe they did!

Harry,
Yes, the top left is too bright. When I've tried to tone it down, the colors get too funky to be believable. I know it doesn't have the "flow" some images do, but I liked the cloud structure around the sun enough to keep it. Thanks for your comments.

The lightning bolt is perfectly positioned, great planning. The soft blue and green tones in the foreground really set a nice mood.

The blues are a bit much, but man, what a cool shot!

Superb color in the light you caught, and the bolt is a perfect addition.

Sunset and lightening in one photo. Don't get that every day. Really nice focus for the image. The pure white would maybe be something to crop. Just seems a bit out of place with the softer colors.
