Another critter I found staring at me when I looked through my macro lens. I found him on a flower bud of a hosta plant. Not sure what kind of spider he is but I love those eyes!

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens with extension tubes. F/5.6 for 1/30 sec. ISO 400. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Expertly captured, Carolyn. If this is a hosta bud, the spider must be tiny, yet the detail in the spider is just terrific. I like the colors, the simple comp, and the reflective eyes. :toast:

Wow, that f/5.6 aperture really worked well to isolate what's important to see here. I'm kind of surprised at how clear the legs are, as well as those big eyes. Looks like one of the many species of jumping spiders to me.

Interesting color combination and nice composition. Sharp details in the spider. Very well done.

The focus on the eyes is extremely effective. They look luminous.

Great detail and colors Carolyn, I'm also thinking this is a young jumping spider, it's a great composition, not easy to get them to look up at you like that.
