For those of you that complain about how many images I use to make a stack...here is one that only uses 13! I was far enough away that I did not need any more.

Stack of 13, Zerene Stacker

5D2 @100mm macro

C&C appreciated!

I see a couple of spots you missed, Eirini. Just kidding! A lovely arrangement of the blossoms against the drab cactus.

Eirini:
Beautiful! almost an Ikebana arrangement

I don't think people complain about the number of images in your stack, just amazement and admiration at your tenacity and attention to details :toast:

Yes, I hope you didn't interpret my question as a complaint; just curious. I fully understand the stacking here as the cactus really stands out, very sharp front to back and side to side. Well done.

Only 13? You're getting lazy.... :wavey:

The contrast in textures is terrific. Did you go in any closer, perhaps isolating one or a few flowers surrounded by the spines? I envy your having ready access to these although I couldn't take the heat you get....

Nice work, once again.

Great environmental portrait Eirini, I like the foreground sharp and the fade to OOF. Well seen and shown.

Eirini: Aptly titled and superbly captured. Just enough environment for my tastes. Very nicely done. >=))>

What a great cactus shot, Eirini! I really like the monochromatic color of the cactus and the ground; it makes the colorful flowers just really pop. Very nice comp on this also. The tall cactus is balanced nicely by the more low lying parts of the cactus plant. The flowers too are spaced nicely throughout with the "crown" on the tall cactus and then the other flowers spread over the lower cactus plants. Great details from all your stacking! (although only 13 this time. )

Perhaps one of the most beautiful specie of cactus blooms I've ever seen, you're lucky to have such a photographer friendly subject Eirini!
Great environment, very nice work :toast:
