Richard, I really like macro shots and this one caught my eye. It would be interesting to see what it would look like as a B&W, too. The little bit of cobweb in the lower left was a little distracting to my eye; I think in part because I love the texture of the rest of the tree. Nice work taking advantage of a slow bird day; a very nice shot.

That's what is so great about macro photography; you can always find something to shoot. I'd say you found something quite interesting and produced a wonderful image! I really like the crisscrossing horizontal lines in the bark contrasting with the smaller vertical lines in the inside bark areas. Makes for great texture and design. Nice!

This is my favorite of the first 8 pics in this weekly challenge. And I don't think it is because it reminds me of chocolate brownies, although it does.
Very nice texture and light.

The repeating patterns, textures, and fine details carry this a long way Rich.
And one can use their imagination to take it many different ways..

Lovely as is. I never would have guess it was a from a palm tree, but once told, it makes sense. Love the diamonds and horizontal feel of it. Nice detail.

The large image really shows the weathery texture well. I like the play of the curved horizontal lines against the vertical cracks.

Great abstract. This could be an aerial view of some of the butte and canyon country out your way. I really like the warm creamy colors and especially the repeated pattern with subtle variations.
