Small parties of these birds forage in the understorey and on the ground of eastern Australian woodlands.

Wonderful. Great colors and background. The vertical branch is a bit distracting, but it is what it is. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet!

Nice composition and pose. Good feather details and a perfect head turn. That blue eye is really cool.
Wouldn't change a thing. Well done. :toast:

I really like seeing the interesting variety of birds you post and their names. If I got called a buff rump I am not sure if that would be a compliment or insult. Wonderful color transition on such a small bird and that blue eye really stands out, excellent shot Rob, well done.

We used to call these "ground robins", as in "What's that rattling in the bushes?" "That's just ground robins." Well done with good detail and a pleasing neutral BG.

Very nice Rob - detail, color, pose, perch and BG all working together to make a lovely image. Man you gotta love that eye - isn't Australia known for it's blue eyed, buff-rumped beauties?

Love the eye on this little guy, Rob. That head coloring is very nice as well. I have no problem with the vertical branch......I think it adds a little framing to the shot. Nicely done.

Very nice image, especially for such a small subject, and sweet light. If mine, as an option, I might consider cropping a bit off the top.
