Yesterday started out cool and foggy. Perfect dragonfly weather!
Found this Twelve-spotted skimmer hanging out in the reeds waiting to get its day started.

Nikon D300 w/105mm Micro Nikkor
1/80sec. f/8 ISO400
Tripod.

Thanks for looking. :wavey:

the large version is fantastic with all the tiny drops covering the head and back. Wonderful details in the wings, stoo. Very nicely done

Great capture, Joel! I like your POV and how he is all lined up on the stem. Good job on focal plane to get the skimmer sharp and the background beautifully soft and blurred. Great lighting and colors.

Excellent, Joel. Yes, you were rewarded for getting out in the foggy morning. The dew on the DF puts this one over the top. Well done. I went to your gallery and then spent some time on your very fine website. Wow, you sure have some amazing DF images (as well as other fine images). :toast:

What a nice find and a great start to your day. Love that dew all over the head and wings. Great pose and detail, perfect dof for this too.

I really like your comp on this, even if it does break the "rules". Nice solid green background allows the eyes to focus in and appreciate all of the details on the DF. Very nice work! :toast:
