Ok, this is the last of them. This started as a test series of shots after my first attempt at cleaning my camera sensor. I was scared to death because the sensor looked nothing like the picture in the instructions, so I parked the camera out of fear. I finally decided to take a series of test shots to see if I had to order a D800, and no such luck, the D80 was ok.
D80, F22 @ 1/5 sec, tripod, almost full frame
Let me know what ya think.

Another beauty, Bob! I think I like this one best of all! The focus is sharper on this one than your last one. Plus I like the wider view of all these wonderful textures and shadings. It all makes for a very rich-looking image. Well done!

Bob:
If these are just test shots, I can imagine what the proper shots would look like. A fabulous series. This one is perhaps the best with the more even mottled lighting. The vein pattern really stands out and the light is just fabulous.

If you want an excuse to get a D800, just 'accidentally' drop the D80 it in water :frown:  ; the sensor will be wrecked for sure.

It's hard to say which of these I like better....although I agree with Carolyn that the focus is sharper so perhaps this one!

If you drop the D80 from about 15 feet onto solid concrete, you can make sure that you'll get to order the D800 (just a suggestion - I'm trying to be helpful).

This is a great image. I love the intense shades of green.

Lovely, Robert. Good lighting--not too contrasty. I like the way that you've composed
setting up the lines diagonally. Eveerything looks sharp. Also thank you for commenting
on my recent posting.

Bob: You have really worked this subject superbly. I like the horizontal orientation here a bit more than the # 3 version. Really well done. >=))>
