Shot in June in Bayou Sauvage NWR in east New Orleans. This refuge has a very healthy population of these. I personally think it's one of the prettiest ducks, and an interesting voice, too. Slight crop, larger image included.

Nice alert pose, Bill. Nice detail in the bird and you got a great BG to show it off. Good eye contact and highlight. I like your chosen composition as well. Looks like you were dealing with strong light but your exposure looks to be right on.

Peter has pretty well covered the ground. I am wondering if a little minus EV might have toned down the highlights. There is nothing here that is out of gamut, it just looks a bit washed.
