Cleome series #1

Nikon D300, 150mm, F/9, 1/40, ISO 200.

The first of the Cleome series is a close-up, the next one will be the only one with the entire flower shown. The long waving stamens and the pink flushed white flowers make a delightful scene. Because of the long stamens, it's sometimes called spider flower. Comments appreciated.

What a fabulous flower you've captured Albert. I've never seen one of these to the best of my recollection. There looks to be some ghosting on the back petals and the subject competes with the BG maybe a tad too much. This looks like a very difficult subject to photograph, and I look forward to more of it.

I found these very difficult to photograph.I never got a good one. But you did! I like your way of concentrating on the stamens.

Love it! The fine focus on the stamens, allowing the rest to be subtly OOF is excellent.
Beautiful soft focus, perfect comp.
Can't wait for more in your series!

Most unusual and effective composition, Albert ! Gorgeous colouring, beautifully sharp anthers and a wonderful sense of freedom.

You've made sense of out chaos. The color variations alone would make this pleasant to view, but the in focus stamens ground the image. Lovely!

Great colors Albert, and I like seeing the stamens waving above the flower. Great shot. Nice start to the series.

Albert:
Starting a Cleome series with a bang! Fabulous composition.
You may want to consider cropping a smidgen off the lower part removing the darker green.

Albert - This is really nice. Cleome is a difficult flowers to shoot but here I see interesting isolation. Just the right amount of stuff in focus and OOF.

I might look at a small crop from the bottom to remove the greenish portion and hence leave it as a nice pinkish reddish painting.

Lovely, Albert. I like the varying degrees of pink/lavendar tones. Good DOF choice.

Albert, I LOVE this!! Playful and pretty, flowing and free. Abundantly cheerful. Obviously, for me, a most evocative image of happiness. Thank you!

Blending some color into the upper right corner would complete this awesome, fun photograph.
