Buffalo Creek Pano

Yesterday morning at Buffalo Creek Wildlife Management Area. Because of all of the wildfires that sweet very early sunrise light has been largely blocked lately. This morning I shot some sunrise images because of the red sky and then waited. This area finally had some decent light falling on it, so I tried a pano of the area. This is four images stitched together in PSE9. There is some saturation work to bring out the colors and the final image is cropped to 90% of original. All comments and critiques are appreciated.

A tough subject, Rich. I think ive been up there while storm chasing, cant recall. Anyhow, the light on the buttes is really nice, too bad the smoke kind of grays out the sky, some richer blue might have been nice. I think you might have been better off shooting from within the warm light, cause theres a bit too much shadow up front here for my tastes (and evidently a lot of silent viewers too  ) But its a good effort, i just think there might be some more potential here. Maybe next time try to avoid the parking area down below too...

Just want to clarify something. The open spot in the image is not a parking lot. The Fish and Wildlife dept. plants some plots of grain for the Elk and other wildlife.

I guess I missed this one somehow, Richard. Unfortunately panoramic images don't usually show their full potential with the thumbnail and size limits. The larger image sure does though. I like the warm light that bathes the landscape here. You have captured just the right amount of detail in the trees but I am glad that you left them predominately dark. I'm not sure if it is an illusion or not but the horizon does appear to be tilted.

I like the wide-aspect ratio of this presentation, although like more panoramas, it doesn't come across as well in the small size. The larger version helps bring the picture to life.
