…of two flowers and two buds of the same variety of Dahlia.

Many thanks to my favorite small, family farm in the greater Seattle area!

I shot differently this year with the idea of portraying "field bouquets." Used more dof than usual. Worked on the background quite a lot in the left upper corner. The flower bunch is as it was.

Would appreciate knowing your opinion on the dof as it renders the bg here. Thanks much for looking and commenting.

Catherine: The BG looks good to me. Beautiful bunch and a fine capture. A touch more room top, left and bottom would suit me a little better. >=))>

Beautiful dahlia variety, nice idea of bouquets, and the background is blurred enough to make the subject pop. I agree a little more on top would be a plus. :wavey:

Remember me?? The one who clips off flowers every which way when shooting them? Shucks, I was happy I remembered to get everything in… Point well taken about more breathing room. Scheesh… But then I'd have had to patch and clone and all that stuff, for there were flowers close all around.

I love the mass of petals these flowers produce. I'll agree with the more space suggestion Bill had, with that it's a winner.

Beautiful family portrait. The bg looks good to me and the colors are lovely. I really like your dof, flowers all in focus and a slightly blurred bg. Very nice

Nice mix of blossoms and buds. The BG looks fine, could even be blurred a little more.

P.S. I don't know if you've been up to Rainier in the last week or so but the flowers are peak. I was at Paradise last Mon/Tues. Nice to do some landscape work for a change....

Hi Catherine :wavey: What a beautiful bouquet of Dahlias  I like the painterly effect, and the gorgeous color, a little breathing room would make this image even better

This is a sweet composition, Catherine. The comments about room above and below would actually provide more isolation, so I'd agree. The background looks good--it's busy, but blurred enough to bring out the flowers nicely. Beautiful flowers too--nice species. The lighting is really nice. :toast:

Sweet-natured dahlias, Catherine. No nits, except maybe adding a little canvas at the top, if you have it.

Catherine - Looks pretty cool to me. A very unique composition and even though its difficult to put all this together you pulled it off. I see your thoughts about more space so I will not raise it again !. Crazy good colors and I would be tempted to focus just on a few flowers for abstracts.
