Parallel Branches

Gallery: Weekly ChallengePosted August 26, 201285 views5 comments
Thick cypress trees in a forest at Ft.Ross, California. I didn't expect to see parallel branches, just parallel trunks. But the Weekly Challenge helped me see this just yesterday.

Canon 5D, Mk3, ISO4000, 100mm, f/11, 1/60 sec. Hand-held in high overcast.

Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.

Yes, this photo has parallel lines all over the place! The angled lines of the branches make a nice counterpoint to the vertical tree trunks. You B&W processing helps highlight all these lines.

You did a good job of making some sense out of chaos.

Cool. Feels like nature's version of a barred rotating gate.

Good eye. I really like the graphic quality of this. This subect is ideal for monochrome.

Order out of disorder. Black and white was a great decision.
